Boy Scouts of America Mission Statement

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by

instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

The Boy Scouts of America is the nation's foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training.

In the future Scouting will continue to:

Instill in young people lifetime values and develop in them ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law;

Train young people in citizenship, service, and leadership;

Tues Mar 26:  NO MEETING due to Spring Break

 Tues Apr 2:  PLC meeting  7:00pm Scout Hut.  Contact your SPL/ASPL if you can not attend:  lacrosse7player@gmail.com or awb1108@ncmcs.net

 Sat Apr 6:  Shotgun Shooting MB Don McKenzie/Nathan H.  On the event day, bring a workbook, a bag lunch and a chair.

 Tues Apr 9:  Troop Meeting 7:00pm Community Presbyterian church Fellowship Hall

                       Service Patrol:  set-up/flags/clean-up: Hawk 1&2

                       Merit Badge Classes #4: Citizenship in the Community (Mr. Brewton) and Coin Collecting (Mrs. Berry)

 Sat Apr 13:  FREE SCOUT PHYSICALS done by Dr. Maness.  Current physical is REQUIRED to sign up for summer camp.  You are not considered "signed-up" for summer camp until your physical is completed.  BEFORE seeing Dr. Maness, you must have the 1st page of physical filled out by parent,  MUST have all immunization dates (separate list from your doctor is acceptable) AND a copy of insurance card.  Scouts can sign up for 15 minute time slot soon.  Location TBD.

 Tues Apr 16:  Troop Meeting 7:00pm  Change of Location - Everyone meet at the Arboretum in Pinehurst at 7:00

                         Service Patrol:  set-up/flags/clean-up:  Hawk 1 &2

                         Troop Fun Day!--Lightning Patrol

 Tues Apr 23: Troop Meeting 7:00pm Community Presbyterian Fellowship Hall

                         Service Patrol:  set-up/flags/clean-up:  Hawk 1&2           

                         Scout Skill:  CPR and AED Training:  Beaver Patrol

 Fri-Sun Apr 26-28:  Pilot Mountain Camping.  Adult advisor Scott Brewton.  Deadline for sign up is April 16.

 CAMP DURANT UPDATE:

Scouts attending camp this summer July 7-13, Mr. Brewton needs your Merit Badge preferences. Fill out the form attached and return to Mr. Brewton on Tuesday.

 MERIT BAGE UPDATE:  COIN COLLECTING

Mrs. Berry has arranged for scouts to visit a local company to see how metals are melted and re-formed into coins.  Mrs. Berry would like to choose a date that would work for the most people. Contact Mrs. Berry if you are interested in going on this little "Field Trip"  so that a date can be chosen soon!  Robin Berry   cc2mama@yahoo.com           

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES:

 Fri-Sat Apr 19-20:  Pinehurst Plant Sale.  Scouts will need to unload plants Fri evening,  guard plants overnight, and help load plants in cars Sat morning.  More info. to follow.

 Sun Apr 21:  One Great Day of Service at Community Presbyterian Church.  Scouts help on projects that the church sets-up.  More info. to follow!
